Hey, it's the weather…
Hey, it's the weather ... channeling Winnipeg ... from the Deep South ... It is legitimately cold here ... more specifically a polar vortex ... Did you really say that you are cold? ... You're telling me here and now you are cold? ... We're looking out the window and there's a frozen pride parade flag blowing ... It's all relative ... The air temperature is twenty below air temperature ... wind chills around thirty-five below ...From our indoor space it's 64 degrees ... and so we're good ... Have you been outside yet today? ... We tried the trick of throwing boiling water in the air ... which we never tried before ... and my intrepid partner was kind enough to video record me ... although we could tell her teeth were about to chatter ... after being in the extreme chill for a couple minutes or so ... The thing that we have to remember about the tossing boiling water challenge is that people can seriously injure themselves ... because the boiling water falling from overhead can burn your face ... If you don't throw the boiling water out far enough ... and if you're attempting to make an impressive arc, you're flirting with danger ... Explain what that feels like ... wind chills down in the thirty to forty below range ... Twenty below wind chill and forty below wind chill feel similar on the skin ... even though they're not ... When we get to a certain threshold it's so biting slapping cold that ... in a matter of a few minutes exposed flesh starts to sting ... Even within a semi sheltered structure ... We have a few brave neighbors who are willing to go for a walk during these conditions ... That's another story ... When did the whole polar vortex term start being frequently used? ...
