Poem For Improv (5)
Picture the rush, the glare of the sun,
Coffee teetering, the chaos begun.
Keys playing games, your bag feels like stone,
But then a warm smile—you're not alone.
A neighbor appears, their grin like a spark,
A light in the storm, a break from the dark.
“How ‘bout those squirrels?” you joke on the spot,
Words flow like water, a lifeline you’ve caught.
Your brain wakes up, its critic shut down,
Creativity dances, no need for a crown.
Courage steps forward, soft yet strong,
Proving connection was there all along.
Think of the laughs, the moments so true,
A stranger’s chuckle uplifting you.
The unplanned joke, the impromptu play,
Imperfectly perfect, lighting the way.
Embrace the unknown, don’t brace for the worst,
Each moment’s an invitation unrehearsed.
Improv’s a mirror, reflecting us all,
Raw and unpolished, yet magical to recall.
