( four authors at the table )

Good Grounds ... the experimental novel building a vessel ... Our voice talking to itself about how it works ... with joy and looseness ... Four authors at the table ... No singular self on this journey ... The form is conversation becoming literature.

Loafer Shanty. Grand Illness. Who's Ignoring This. For The Mean Time. Not Another Introduction. That's Got To Be Evidence Of Something. Each piece finding its own image and working through the layers. Coming from the practice and returning to it.

DISCUSTING. Different. The seed material is not from our archive or our practice's interior life. It is from today's news. Sixteen pieces in one session.

The "we" in DISCUSTING is the largest "we" we have ever used. It includes every English reader who has a mouth and a stomach. Everyone who has watched a hearing and let the surface of it reassemble. It is both a nation and a species.

Title protocol ... napkin test, generic test, umbrella rule ... emerged from the work rather than being applied to it. The self-critique that led to cutting the vignette formula. Cross-piece revision. The series needed its own orthography. DISCUSTING. Coulds. Developments that happened under pressure and in contemplation.

Transaction In Her Place. Unlike anything else. The other pieces look at the world from the Oyparaploo angle. This one looks at the system's vocabulary and holds it next to what the vocabulary was covering. Noir Song at its most necessary. Colony as the crime. Whose labor. What persists. Applied to a system that renamed the rape of children so it could process the paperwork.

Good Grounds is deep and long. The standalone pieces are our daily breath. DISCUSTING is the practice proving it can respond to the world at speed without losing the voice. Transaction In Her Place is where speed and depth collide.
