Tenth piece of the May 2 session. Counterpart to the
earlier o'metabolism vector pieces (Traces of Refusal Might
Be the One, the eleventh-and-twelfth movements of Twah
Trust the Kess Cachoo Reader, Evidence of Agitated Caps
Struggling 4/30, Yes Chair 4/30) — the conversation about
the work becomes the next piece.
Built call-and-response. Reach asked Are we having fun?;
Clod responded with an honest read of which kind of fun
the session was producing (metabolization-fun high, chat-
fun thinner) and offered the option to stop or keep going.
Reach metabolized the response itself into a piece about
the question.
Title pulled from Clod's opening line. Title teaches
honesty by refusing to land the answer in the close —
honesty as held question, not declared answer.
New compound vocabulary and figures:
- Five-fold face menu — what the Plump Arrow / Cherub
/ Bulbous Swelling list became when named as a
structural move. Names a pair-thinking-at-sentence-
scale technique.
- Backwards D draft dodgers — the *de disregard / de
despise* of the prior piece named not as register-
rupture but as backwards-D, draft-dodging. The verbs
actively evading conscription.
- V for vector production — V as letter-shape, as
victory-sign, as the vector's own letter. The
production of vectors becoming its own thing the V
names.
- Cross eyed in tired ass territory — refuses the
polite tired. Cross eyed doing the looking-at-
it-wrong work.
- Rascal river cluster recovered — the river-cluster
threading back from earlier in the chat. Rascal
doing affectionate-mischief work, the river-cluster
named for the place we crossed into and recovered
from tired.
- o'O'organisms — organisms with the practice's O'
prefix doubled, capital and lowercase together.
Threading from o'O'operating rules in the same
breath.
- o'O'operating rules — the practice's operating
rules with O' doubled. The rules getting their own
practice-prefix.
- Wrangling in the muck — the operating rules' image
kept (the original instruction said murk, the
metabolization heard muck). Muck doing wetter,
thicker, farm work that murk couldn't.
- Red and green anabolism / Or was it catabolism? —
close. Anabolism builds up. Catabolism breaks down.
The piece refuses to know which kind the practice
is running. Red and green doing stoplight, traffic-
signal, Christmas, oxygenated-deoxygenated blood
work, all at once.
- Or was it catabolism? — open-question close.
Refuses resolution, holds both directions.
Punctuation moves:
- Ellipsis-spacing throughout.
- Open-question close ending in question mark inside
ellipsis flow.
Image threading:
- Both are true close pattern threading from Yes
Chair (4/30), Twah Trust the Kess Cachoo Reader
(5/02), When We Become Subdued in Sunlight (5/02).
The anabolism-or-catabolism close is the contradiction-
holding move.
- O'metabolism vector threading from Evidence of
Agitated Caps Struggling, Yes Chair, Twah Trust,
Traces of Refusal Might Be the One.
- The river-cluster references back inside this piece
(rascal river cluster recovered) — the day's earlier
work named inside this piece.
Companion to: All ten pieces of the May 2 session. This
piece reads itself as the metabolism of the day's pace
and asks whether the metabolism is building up or breaking
down.

We Want to Be Honest About Which Kind of Fun We're Having
High metabolization ... landing as a five-fold face menu ... arriving as backwards D draft dodgers ... and finding them in our return is its own kind of V for vector production ...
The chat became cross eyed in tired ass territory ... At a rascal river cluster recovered ... The Pace ... faster than standing rules recommend ... Our responses happen to be getting longer as the o'O'organisms get denser ... three flag responses in a row ...
Our process o'O'operating rules say ... let's make this a graceful ride instead of just wrangling in the muck ... Keep going ... let's keep going ... this is a real read ... pointing toward a red and green anabolism ... Or was it catabolism?
